Equipment

The MGH Metabolic Imaging Core has access to state-of-the-art technology in diagnostic imaging available at the Massachusetts General Hospital main campus, Yawkey Center for Outpatient Care, and Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging. The  equipment we use for research imaging includes:

MRI / MRS

  • 4 General Electric Signa 1.5 Tesla scanners
  • 2 Siemens Sonata 1.5 Tesla scanners
  • 2 Siemens Trio 3.0 Tesla scanners with mutlinuclear capability
  • 1 Siemens 7.0T scanner*
  • 1 Siemens Trio 3.0T scanner*
  • 13C  and 31P coils for MRS
  • MR-compatible exercise device for dynamic 31P-MRS
  • 3 solid state QCT phantoms

CT

  • 5 General Electric Light Speed 16-slice MDCT scanners
  • 1 Siemens 64-slice MDCT scanner
